The Monday night action in the Premier League takes place at Selhurst Park, as Crystal Palace bid to continue their excellent run of form. Man United will be looking for a response after drawing three of their last four in the league.
The pressure continues to increase on Erik ten Hag as we enter the final month of the domestic season in England. Man United may still have an FA Cup final to look forward to, but even a success in the Wembley showpiece may not be enough to save the Dutchman from the chop. United’s league form throughout this season has been poor, and they face a battle to finish sixth.
The Red Devils have failed to win in three of their last four matches in the competition, with their only success being picked up against rock-bottom Sheffield United. However, they were unable to build on that comeback success when they were held by Burnley last Saturday. Across their last six matches in the Premier League, the Red Devils have conceded a whopping 12 goals.
Oliver Glasner has done an excellent job of steadying the ship at Crystal Palace since his arrival, and the club can already begin to plan ahead of another season in the Premier League next term. The Eagles come into this round of matches in fine recent form after avoiding defeat in each of their last four matches.
However, their three-game winning sequence was halted last weekend after netting a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Fulham. Despite that, Palace’s recent form could see them mount a late challenge for a position higher in the standings.
Crystal Palace will be chasing a very rare league double over United after registering a 1-0 success at Old Trafford in September. Their home record is also fairly reliable after avoiding defeat in three meetings with United at Selhurst Park. United’s last away victory against Palace was recorded in July 2020, which is one of just three wins that they have managed in the last nine clashes between these sides.
This looks likely to be a very challenging assignment for Man United on Monday, as their leaky defence will be put under pressure by a vibrant Palace attacking line. Therefore, we will be siding with the home team picking up maximum points in the Premier League at Selhurst Park.
