The exciting action in the Premier League has continued in between the October and November international breaks, with every side in the top-flight now having picked up at least one victory in 2024-25.
However, all eyes have been on the top of the standings in recent weeks, as Liverpool have eased clear at the summit after winning four of their last five to open up a five-point advantage over Man City. Chelsea and Arsenal are back a further four points.
But, who have been some of the standout players across October and November 2024?
Nottingham Forest have been one of the surprise packages in the Premier League this season, and much of their success is down to the resurgence of 32-year-old striker Chris Wood.
The striker made history in early November by becoming the first New Zealander to win the official Premier League Player of the Month award, and his performances have been dazzling.
Wood has scored six goals in five Premier League outings across the last two months, securing ten points from a possible 15 for his team. The Kiwi is operating at an xG of 4.51, and has hit the target on 14 occasions from 21 attempts.
Another veteran enjoying a renaissance in 2024-25 is former Man United and Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck. Across October, he rolled back the years, scoring in all three of Bright’s matches, including a stunning late winner in a 3-2 success against Brighton.
His goal in the victory against Newcastle saw Welbeck reach 100 EPL goal involvements, while his effort in a 2-2 draw against Wolves marked the first time since 2014 that the 33-year-old had scored in three successive matches.
His form has continued into November, providing an assist in an unfortunate defeat against Liverpool. However, so far this season, he has averaged a match rating of 7.28, and he remains an integral part of the Seagulls forward line.
Questions were asked of Jordan Pickford at the start of the season, but the goalkeeper has been one of Everton’s most important players across October and November. England’s number one has kept three clean sheets in the top-flight this term, meaning only Matz Sels and Andre Onana have kept more shutouts.
His performances across the last two months have been vitally important for Everton’s upturn in form, saving a penalty against Newcastle in a 0-0 draw, before keeping clean sheets in a win over Ipswich and a draw on the road against West Ham.
So far this season, Pickford has made 31 saves, and is operating at a very respectable save percentage of 64.7%.
Liverpool’s dominant start to life under Arne Slot has seen them move clear at the summit in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Mohamed Salah’s impression has gone under the radar to a degree, as he has scored just two league goals across the last two months. However, his impact has come in the form of the assists that he is providing.
Salah has notched up five assists across all competitions, which included important moments in Premier League wins over Aston Villa and Chelsea. Salah’s six assists this term have been provided from an xA of just 2.05. Only Bukayo Saka has registered more assists at this stage of the season.
Brentford have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch in England this season, with no stadium seeing more goals than the Gtech Community Stadium.
Mikkel Damsgaard has caught the eye for Thomas Frank’s side, with his four assists in the top flight only being out-scored by Saka, Salah, and Cole Palmer. Notably, his best performances have come across the last two months, with two of his four assists coming in a thrilling 5-3 win over Wolves.
Damsgaard was also the provider in a stunning late win over Ipswich Town at the end of last month. His EPL scoring tally was opened before the latest international break, netting in a thrilling 3-2 win over Bournemouth.
