Chelsea’s Top 5 Best Players of the Season

Chelsea’s Top 5 Best Players of the Season

Giorgi Natsvlishvili Giorgi Natsvlishvili

Chelsea’s season, which was marred by inconsistencies, can still be called a successful one. Enzo Maresca’s men qualified for the Champions League and claimed the Conference League title, beating Betis 1-4 in the final.

In this tough campaign, some players deserve huge credit for their performance. In the following article, I have picked five Chelsea players who have shown excellent display.

5. Noni Madueke

Noni Madueke is the first on the list. The young English winger had a great first half of the season, where he was proficient in the attack. However, his efficiency decreased in the second part of the campaign.

Madueke scored seven goals in 32 Premier League appearances. It is not a huge number, but when the team needed him the most, he was there. That is why, I think he deserves the fifth place in the rankings.

4. Marc Cucurella

Marc Cucurella’s career saw a complete turnaround following the Euro 2024. He was one of the most important members of the title-winning Spain, and in the left-back position, he was phenomenal.

Chelsea saw this and took the maximum from him. The Spaniard appeared in 36 matches in the Premier League, scored five goals, and the majority of them were pivotal. For instance, I can remember the penultimate game in the English top-tier, when he netted the winner against Manchester United.

Cucurella was also solid in the defence. Overall, he had a magnificent season, and given how he performs, it should be a good sign for both Chelsea and the national team.

3. Enzo Fernandez

When Enzo moved to Chelsea in 2022, he had a slow start, but step by step, the Argentine virtuoso gradually began to demonstrate his skills. This year was particularly effective, as in the Premier League he stood out with six goals and seven assists.

The stats don’t even fully reflect his impact on Chelsea. Enzo dictated the tempo, was incredible in possessing the ball, and delivered excellent passes to his teammates. Added to that, he scored the equalizer in the Conference League final.

I think there is still room for improvement, and the upcoming 2025/26 calendar year will be even more prolific. One thing is clear – this season was a turning point for the 2022 World Cup winner.

2. Cole Palmer

Cole Palmer’s arrival was a landmark deal for Chelsea. In his first year, the Englishman scored 22 goals and delivered 11 assists. Everyone saw him as the next architect for Chelsea’s success, and indeed, Palmer lived up to the expectations.

Although he experienced a challenging second half of the season, he still managed to deliver 15 goals and 8 assists in 37 matches for Chelsea.

Moreover, had it not been for his impressive play in the Conference League final, the winner could have been different.

Whether you like him or not, Cole Palmer will be an irreplaceable member of the current Chelsea lineup. Therefore, I give him the second place in this list.

1. Moises Caicedo

And we have reached the player who has become the Player of the Season – Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian midfielder had a slow start for the Blues, but this season has turned out to be incredible for him.

He does not shine with his stats, but the role Caicedo had in the midfield is simply remarkable.

Alongside Enzo Fernandez, he formed a powerhouse and no wonder his display left everyone speechless.

At 23, Moises Caicedo is improving with every match, and he is deservedly the best one based on the current season. He also had a beautiful end to the campaign when he scored the final goal of Chelsea against Betis on May 28 in the Conference League.
