There is Monday night action to look forward to in La Liga this weekend, as Villarreal look to end their four-match winless streak. Osasuna are the visitors, as they also look to end their three-game wait for a victory in the Spanish top-flight.

It has been a difficult run of form for both teams involved in this La Liga fixture on Monday. Villarreal have slid down the league standings after going four without a win, while Osasuna’s wait for victory currently stands at three fixtures. Both sides will be looking to get back on track and enhance their European hopes with a victory on Monday.

Villarreal could come into this fixture in the bottom half of the standings, as they are just two points ahead of eleventh-placed Celta Vigo at present. However, a return to winning ways, could put them back with a point of the European spots. 

The Spanish side lost for the second time in four games in their previous fixture, as they suffered a 1-0 loss on the road against Real Sociedad. In that fixture, they managed just a single shot on target.

Osasuna is in a very similar position coming into this fixture, but a victory for them could put them level on points with Atletico Madrid, who sit fourth coming into the weekend. The Spanish side has scored just nine goals this term, which is the lowest of any side in the top half of the standings.

However, they will need to bounce back after losing an ill-tempered match against Valencia last weekend. Darko Brasanac scored their only goal in that defeat. But, the visitors this weekend will be without Unai Garcia and Ruben Pena, who were both sent off against Valencia.
