Tottenham v Man Utd Prediction: Premier League Match on 30.10.2021

The English Premier League is back in full flow this weekend, with teams back chasing points following the midweek distraction of EFL Cup football. The schedule throws up some fascinating contests on round 10, and there’s plenty for lovers of the beautiful game to get excited about.

One match sure to attract a huge TV audience comes from London, where Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United aim to bounce back from recent defeats and get their season back on track.

Spurs and the Red Devils entered the campaign expecting to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title but have failed to match the hype created in the summer. Both are well off the pace set by Chelsea and know their chances of winning the league are fading fast, even at this early stage of the campaign.

Victory would breathe life back into their push while defeat would send them skittling down the table. There’s all to play for here, and a tense afternoon awaits. Which team will hold their nerve and get the win?

Manchester United won their previous visit to the arena, smashing Tottenham 3-1 in London back in April of this year. The points were wrapped up that day thanks to goals from Fred, Cavani and Greenwood in the second half but came after Heung Min-Son had fired Spurs into an early lead.

A comfortable win for United that day but not quite as comfortable as the one enjoyed by Tottenham at Old Trafford in October when scoring an extraordinary 6-1 victory at the Theatre of Dreams.

Spurs have lost three of four

Tottenham spent the summer months battling off interest from Manchester City in star striker Harry Kane then beat the champions in London on the opening weekend of the campaign. They got fans excited, believing the change in manager and a fresh start would allow them to wipe the slate clean and get back to holding a top-four finish in the Premier League and pushing for the title.

They did start well enough but have failed to reach the dizzy heights of matchday one since. The home team enter with their league form showing five wins against four defeats with nine scored and 13 conceded.

The home team’s numbers show they have scored fewer goals than Newcastle United, who are stuck in the relegation zone and sit second from the bottom of the table. The defence has conceded more goals than Southampton, who are down in 16th, balancing just above the drop zone.

They are good enough to beat any opponent at this level and will be a tough team to beat on their patch, but Spurs are lacking the consistency needed to challenge for the top four at present. They are unable to put together a run of wins that would turn them from contenders into challengers.

Spurs have lost three of their last five games and were beaten a week ago by West Ham United at the former Olympic Stadium in what was an engrossing London Derby. Despite starting the game as favourites with most pundits for the win, Spurs were beaten by a goal from Antonio that was scored with 72 minutes on the clock, but it was nothing short of what the Hammers deserved.

Spurs were left to rue their missed chances as they had the opportunity to win the points in East London. Much better is required here.

Man Utd suffer the agony of a 5-0 defeat

Manchester United finished as runners up behind Manchester City last season in the Premier League and Valencia in the Europa League. Fans had hoped the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reign had finally caught fire but have been left feeling disappointed and frustrated by this year’s efforts.

The visitors are down in seventh place in the table with four wins, two draws and three defeats, scoring 16 but conceding 15. On closer inspection, we note Man Utd have scored more goals than each of the next three teams above them in the table but have conceded more than any other team in the top 13.

The Red Devils are winless in their last four league starts, losing three and drawing one, including defeat in each of their last two. They were beaten 4-2 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium before scoring an emphatic Champions League win against Atalanta.

A return to league duty at Old Trafford last weekend saw Man Utd hammered 5-0 in what many sports writers are calling the manager’s darkest day. Pogba was sent off on the hour mark in that game, and Jurgen Klopp’s side took advantage, running riot as the home fans made for the exits.

A look at the form of Man Utd shows exactly where their problems lie. In their four games played this month, the Man Utd defence has conceded a dozen goals which is shocking for any team at any level, let alone a club hoping to challenge for the Premier League crown.

That dreadful run of form and the poor defence is expected to cost the manager his job sooner rather than later, but the board have stuck by their former player in the past, a striker that helped them win the Champions League. Can he turn things around?

Tottenham v Man Utd prediction

Here we have a meeting of two giants from English football, and this could rank as the biggest match from the weekend’s schedule across Europe. The Premier League is the most-watched club football league in the world, and this game will draw an audience in the millions from across the globe, all hoping the players live up to expectations and deliver a memorable match full of goals.

Tottenham have struggled of late, and the coaching staff will be looking for more from the attack. They are likely to get their fair share of chances against this weak Man Utd defence but must be firm at the back themselves.

The stats suggest we are in for a high-scoring game, and if both teams are at their best, this could be a thriller.
