Tobol will welcome Derry City to the Ortaliq Stadion on Thursday at 14:00 GMT for the first leg of the Europa Conference League’s third qualifying round clash. The two sides will look to get off to a good start in the two-legged tie, with next week’s second leg in mind.
Tobol have been inconsistent in the Kazakhstan Premier League; they currently sit 6th on the table with 26 points, 16 behind leaders Ordabasy. In their last five domestic outings, Tobol have won three times and lost twice.
The inconsistency will worry Tobol ahead of welcoming Derry City for the first leg on Thursday. However, they demonstrated their good form by eliminating Basel in the second qualifying round. They won the away leg 1-3 before losing the home leg 1-2, progressing 4-3 on aggregate.
Derry City eliminated HB in the first qualifying round of the Europa Conference League. After the first leg ended in a 0-0 stalemate, Derry City won the second leg 1-0. In the second qualifying round, Derry City eliminated KuPS 4-5 on aggregate.
