PSG’s dominance in Ligue 1 is still inevitable. They have been leading the table with big gap from the runner up, Marseille and still on their positive trends. This weekend, they are unlikely to have any difficulty to carry on winning while visiting Strasbourg. The host is still sitting on the 10th of the table and struggling for consistent form. They have to strive in this upcoming fixture for snatching only one point against the defending Champions.
Ludovic Ajorque and Co failed to secure points while visiting Montpellier last weekend. Despite being able to frustrate the host and play well, they were beaten 0-3. Montpellier’s first goal by Teji Savanier’s penalty ruined their mentality. Eventually, they have conceded two more goals by Gaetan Laborde and Teji Savanier’s long-range strike.
Meanwhile, Thiago Silva and Co could easily pass Dijon as they hammered the visitor’s side by four goals to nil. Kylian Mbappe’s brace plus Pablo Sarabia and Mauro Icardi’s goals brought them to another unchallenged victory and stay on the top with thirteen points difference.
Thierry Laurey has been in favor of 4-3-1-2 formation lately with the transition to 4-4-2 diamond, 4-2-3-1 or even 5-3-2. He relies on duo frontman, Ludovic Ajorque and South African international, Lebo Mothiba.
Thomas Tuchel often opts for 4-3-3 and 4-2-2-2 for his competitive squad. No wonder that everyone has to strive for a spot in the line-up, including the superstar Neymar and German’s supposedly talented midfielder, Julian Draxler. For this upcoming fixture, some of the names are in the injury table such as Thiago Silva, Colin Dagba and Erik Choupo-Mouting.
The top performers in Strasbourg’s squad this season are Ludovic Ajorque with eight goals and four assists, the midfielder Adrien Thomasson also with eight goals and one assist and Kenny Lala. Another notable one is the former Newcastle reserve goalie, Matz Sels.
In PSG, almost the entire players in the squad are the stars in that position. The superstar Neymar is certainly the top performer with thirteen goals and six assists in Ligue 1. The current top scorer is the French wonderboy, Kylian Mbappe with eighteen goals and five assists, while the current top assists provider is the Argentinean veteran Angel Di Maria with fourteen assists and eight goals.
Securing three points against Thierry Laurey’s men should not be a problem for Le Parisien even without Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the line-up. The only thing Strasbourg could attempt to do is to avoid being conceded too many goals and hope to strike back and score before employing more layered defense wall afterwards.
As the clear favorite, Tuchel’s men are priced to win at 1.67 whereas the host’s win market is only at 5.10. The odds for a draw result are only at 3.90.
