Monza deserves a lot of credit for their debut performance in Serie A, and they could yet end the campaign as high as eighth in the standings. They come into this fixture in solid recent form after going five without defeat.

Their most recent success was picked up last weekend, as they claimed a dramatic 2-0 home win over the recently crowned champions of Italy, Napoli. Sassuolo’s status in the top flight has already been assured for another season, as they sit 14 points above the drop zone with three games of the campaign remaining. However, they don’t come into this fixture on Friday in the same kind of form as their rivals. Sassuolo has won just once over their previous five, with three defeats being suffered over that period. 

Their 15th defeat of the season came last weekend, as the Italian side fell to a 4-2 defeat on the road against Inter Milan. Both of the Sassuolo goals in that loss were netted in the final half an hour, with Matheus Henrique scoring the first, before Davide Frattesi added some more respectability to the final score.
