Few sides have caught the imagination as much as Real Sociedad this term. They come into the mid-way stage sitting third in the standings, and they could potentially end this upcoming round sitting second in the standings.
It has been an excellent campaign to this point for Real Sociedad, as they comfortably sit in the Champions League spots in La Liga. However, they will be aware that the second half of the campaign will decide their campaign. Sociedad has been excellent in recent weeks, as they have won four of their previous five. Valladolid is currently sitting in a precarious position in the league standings, as they are just a single point above the relegation spots. They have won six of their 19 games this term, and they finally returned to winning ways in their previous fixture to end a four-game losing run.
It was a battling display by the team on that outing, and they were more than deserving of their late winner to steal the points against Valencia. The winning goal was netted by Cyle Larin on his debut for Valladolid. His goals could prove decisive in the battle to avoid the drop.
Valladolid picked up an excellent 1-0 victory in the previous meeting between the sides this term. However, that was their first win in five matches against their rivals this week. Sociedad has won each of their previous two home games against their opponents this weekend.
It’s always an exciting fixture when Sociedad is involved, which means that we could be set to see goals this weekend. We find it very hard to bet against the high-flying hosts, and we could see them claiming a 3-1 win in front of their home fans on Sunday.
