Real Madrid still has a small chance of retaining their La Liga title this term, but they will likely need to land victory in all remaining games to have any chance of ending the season as champions. The Spanish giants come into this match after winning two of their previous three, but they have also lost two of their last four matches. Defeat this weekend could allow Atletico the opportunity to leap frog their city rivals. 

Real was professional in their previous league match, as they claimed a dominant 2-0 win on the road against Cadiz. Both efforts were scored in the final 20 minutes, with Nacho breaking the deadlock, before Marcos Asensio secured the maximum points. However, they registered 35 shots in that game, meaning that they likely should have won by a wider margin. 

Celta Vigo aren’t yet safe from the threat of relegation, as they sit 12th in the standings, and are just nine clear of the bottom three places. However, two more wins will likely be enough to secure their status for next season. Celta could also move into the top half of the standings with a famous away win this weekend. 

They will need to bounce back to winning ways if they are to achieve that, as they have gone three without a success. A first defeat in five was suffered in their previous match, as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Mallorca on Monday evening.
