It has been a strange start to the Bundesliga season this term, as a number of teams are not in the positions that they would have been expecting. That includes both Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen who clash in the domestic competition on Saturday.
Leipzig will likely be much happier with their start to the season, as they sit in eighth and are just four points off the Champions League places. However, they only have themselves to blame for not being closer at this stage, as they have been incredibly inconsistent over the early months of the season.

Bayer Leverkusen will be very worried about the predicament that they find themselves in, as they sit just a place and point above the bottom three places in the Bundesliga standings. They have picked up just two victories this season, and have been leaking a huge amount of goals.
Leverkusen moved back down to 15th in the standings last weekend, as they played out a draw against Wolfsburg. That means that they are winless in their previous two coming into this fixture.
Leipzig has a very strong record in this fixture, as they have lost just two of the previous 12 fixtures that they have played against Leverkusen. However, Leipzig has scored at least once in each of those 12 meetings.
Leipzig are certainly improving under Marco Rose, as only Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt have picked up more points in the previous six games. Therefore, we could see that feel-good run being maintained this weekend, as Leipzig edge closer towards the top four with a victory.
