RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are currently leading the chasing pack for a Champions League finish in the Bundesliga this term. Leipzig has a slender advantage in the current standings, as they sit a point better off than Frankfurt. Meanwhile, victory for the hosts on Saturday could lift them up to fourth in the standings. However, they have picked up just one win from their previous three. 

Leipzig ended a two-game wait for a win last weekend, as they cruised to a 3-0 win on the road against Wolfsburg. Emil Forsberg put the traveling side ahead in that fixture, before Konrad Laimer doubled the advantage with just five minutes of the 90 remaining. The scoring was rounded off in injury time, as Dominik Szoboszlai continued his streak in front of goal with the third. 

Eintracht Frankfurt still sit comfortably in the top six in the Bundesliga, but they are now two points adrift of the top four places in the league standings. They have won just two of their previous five. However, they have still been tough to beat over that period, as they have suffered just a single defeat. 

The German giants recovered from a recent defeat last weekend, as they landed a 2-0 win at home against Werder Bremen. Randal Kolo Muani scored the second goal in that success early in the second half. However, the striker was sent off in midweek, as Frankfurt fell to a 2-0 loss against Serie A high-flyers Napoli in the Champions League.

Leipzig was beaten 4-0 by Frankfurt in the previous meeting between the sides. Meanwhile, they haven’t picked up a single victory in their previous seven games in all competitions against Frankfurt. However, Frankfurt hasn’t won away from home against Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
