It has been a solid start to the 2023-24 Bundesliga season for RB Leipzig, and they are certainly in the conversation when it comes to the sides that could be primed to make a challenge for the title this term. Leipzig have won four of their opening six league matches, and they have bounced back well since suffering defeat on the opening day. 

However, Leipzig saw their four-match winning run come to an end in the Bundesliga last weekend as they could only play out an entertaining draw against Bayern Munich. There will be pressure on Bochum this weekend, as they remain one of three teams in the Bundesliga that are yet to register maximum points so far this term. However, they have picked up draws in half of their six matches over the opening months of the season. 

But, their three-match unbeaten run has come to an end in recent weeks, as they have suffered back-to-back defeats in the German division. Their most recent loss was suffered at home, as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach last Saturday. That loss means that Bochum have now conceded ten goals in their last two matches.

Leipzig have won eight of their last nine matches against Bochum across all competitions. The only win for Bochum over that period was secured in the most recent clash between the sides in March 2023. However, Leipzig have won each of their last five home matches against their rivals.

Leipzig have been excellent in home matches against Bochum in recent seasons, scoring seven in the previous two. We expect the hosts to experience more success this weekend, as we could see them landing a 3-0 victory to move closer to the top of the standings.
