Premier League Matchday 10 Round Up 27.10.2019

The Premier League once again took center stage this weekend, and one result would have captured the imagination more than most. Meanwhile, Liverpool maintained their lead at the top of the league, while Manchester United won on the road for the first time this season.

Southampton 0-9 Leicester City

Leicester City broke the all-time record for the biggest ever away win on Friday night as they hammered a hapless Southampton side by nine goals. There were hat-tricks for Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy. Youri Tielemans, Ben Chilwell and James Madison also got their names on the score sheet. The Foxes now also have more points at this stage of the season than they did in their title success in 2016.

Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool ensured they set the gap from Manchester City back to six points with a hard-fought win over Tottenham. Spurs went ahead after just 47 seconds when Harry Kane smartly directed his header into the net. Liverpool struck back in the second half through Jordan Henderson, before, Sadio Mane was brought down for a penalty for the Reds. Mohamed Salah made no mistake from the spot and wrapped up all three points.

Norwich City 1-3 Manchester United

Manchester United recorded their first away win of the season, and could even have the luxury of missing two penalties. Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial got the goals for the Red Devils. Onel Hernandez scored a late consolation for the Canaries.

Manchester City 3-0 Aston Villa

Manchester City had closed the gap at the top of the Premier League to just three points on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan were enough to hold off the stiff threat by the Villa.
