It promises to be a tense couple of days for Partick Thistle and Ross Country, as the final team that will be playing in the SPL next season will be determined. Partick Thistle has defied all expectations to reach this stage of the playoffs, as they finished in the final playoff position in the Championship standings. They finished ahead of Greenock Morton on goal difference, but their performance levels have been taken to another level during the playoffs.

They completed the job in their final match of the Championship playoff semi-final over the weekend, landing a 5-0 win on the road against the side that finish second in the overall standings.

There will be immense pressure on Ross County in the playoffs, as they will be fighting for their place in the SPL next season. They finished the regular season in eleventh overall, as they picked up nine wins from 38 matches. However, they narrowly avoided finishing bottom of the standings, as they finished just three points clear of Dundee United. 

Ross County comes into this fixture having gone three league matches without defeat, and they have lost twice over that period. Their most recent defeat came on the final day of the SPL on Sunday, as they were easily beaten 3-1 on the road by Kilmarnock.

This will be the first clash between the sides since 2019. Partick Thistle won the previous clash between the sides in the Scottish League Cup. However, Ross County still holds a solid recent record in this fixture, as they have won four of the previous seven.
