There will be massive action at the bottom of the Premier League when the English top-flight resumes following the international break this weekend. There will be massive pressure on Nottingham Forest to gain maximum points against Crystal Palace after dropping into the relegation places.
A fascinating end to the Premier League season will step up a gear when the competition resumes following the international break this weekend. Nottingham Forest have dropped into the relegation spots after being handed a points deduction for breaching Premier League rules, but a victory at home against the Eagles could lift them back out of the bottom three.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s arrival has done little to help their cause to stay in the Premier League this term, as Forest have won just once across their last eight fixtures in the competition. They come into this round after ending a three-game losing sequence before the international break after playing out a 1-1 draw against Luton. However, home advantage could be crucial this weekend, as Forest have won four of their six matches this term at the City Ground.
Crystal Palace also aren’t completely safe from the threat of relegation at this stage, with the Eagles sitting eight points above the bottom three places. But they have landed victories in seven of their 28 matches this term, and a win on the road on Saturday could send them closer toward the middle of the table.
Palace have at least been more challenging to beat in recent weeks after losing once across their last four matches. But, only one victory has been picked up across their last six in the competition. It could also be worth noting that the Eagles have suffered seven defeats away from home this season.
Forest boasts an excellent record against the Eagles after winning five of the last ten meetings across all competitions. Palace’s only win over that period was a 1-0 away win in the Championship in 2011. Four of the last five clashes have ended in draws.
This is a must-win match for Forest in the Premier League this weekend, but there has been a lot to like about Palace’s recent performances. Therefore, we could see the draw being a likely outcome on Saturday when these sides collide.
