It has been a long build up to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, but the tournament finally gets underway this weekend. Nigeria will be among the leading contenders to go deep in the competition, and they will be expected to push Ivory Coast all the way for the top spot in the Group A standings. 

Nigeria have been crowned champions of Africa on three previous occasions, with their most recent success coming back in 2013. In the previous edition, they reached the round of 16, which marked their earliest exit in the competition since falling at the group stage in 1982.
