Newcastle will welcome Dortmund to St. James’ Park on Wednesday night for a one-on-one clash in matchday three of Group F’s Champions League action, as they look to press home their advantage at the top of Group F, with kickoff slated for 19:00 GMT.
Newcastle have started their life back in the Champions League in solid style. They opened Group F action with a gritty 0-0 draw away to Milan before defeating PSG convincingly 4-1 at home.
In the Premier League, Newcastle have recovered from three defeats to go five matches unbeaten, with four wins and a draw in their last five outings.
The resurgence in form for Eddie Howe’s side will be tested when they take on Dortmund on Wednesday.
Dortmund are unbeaten in their opening eight Bundesliga matches, winning six and drawing twice. They have collected 20 points from the available 24 and sit 4th on the table, 2 points behind leaders Leverkusen.

Newcastle will also miss the services of Lewis Miley, with the 17-year-old showing a fever ahead of the visit of Dortmund.
Dortmund will be without the services of two players ahead of their trip to Newcastle United.
Right-back Thomas Meunier will be unavailable for selection. The 32-year-old fullback is recovering from a muscle injury he suffered on July 31st. Meunier has missed the last 11 matches for Dortmund and is unlikely to be available for the trip to Newcastle.
Dortmund will also miss right-back Mateu Morey. The 23-year-old suffered a knee injury on September 9th and has missed the last 7 matches. The fullback will not be in the first-team squad ahead of the visit to Newcastle on Wednesday.

These approaches will result in a keenly contested match with both sides looking for control and dominance.
