The champions of Italy, Napoli, go one-on-one against the Champions League finalists, Inter, on Sunday at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona from 16:00 GMT.
This clash will carry more meaning for Inter, who are involved in a top-four fight as the Serie A season meanders to its conclusion.
Napoli, who have taken their foot off the gas in recent matches after wrapping up the title, will be looking for a good performance to mark a celebratory mood in Naples for the fans, especially coming up against a good and in-form Inter side.
Naples is still rocking, with Napoli having conquered Serie A finally. Luciano Spalletti and his men will look to mark this feat with a win at the Armando Maradona Stadium, in front of the home faithful and against the opponent from Milan.
Signs of easing off the intensity were apparent in last week’s 2-0 defeat at Monza for Napoli. They have also won just twice in the last five matches, drawing two times and losing once, which is below the lofty standards they have set this season.
However, Spalletti will look to have his Napoli charges focused and ready for the clash with Inter. They will not want Inter to clash with their celebratory mood. Instead, a win over their rivals will be icing on this season.
Spalletti will also look to guard against complacency and the potential drop in concentration with nothing left to play for this season.
Having sealed the title, and out of all competitions, Napoli will be at a disadvantage against Inter, who are involved in a tip-0four fight and have a Champions League final against Man City to look forward to.
Bet hereInter have hit a fine run of form at the right time of the season; they have won all five of their last five matches in Serie A as they have scaled the table to stand third, three points behind second-placed Juventus.
With three matches remaining in the season, a win at Napoli will move them closer to sealing their top-four position ahead of the chasing pack of Lazio (65 points) and Milan (61 points).
It is also crucial for Simone Inzaghi to ensure that his charges are focused as they work toward that big final in the Champions League against Man City.
Spalletti will be without left-back Mario Rui for the clash with Inter on Sunday. The 31-year-old fullback is nursing a fibula fracture he suffered on April 18, 2023.
Napoli will also be without the services of right winger Hirving Lozano. The 27-year-old suffered a knee injury on May 7, 2023, which has sidelined him for the last two Napoli matches.
Inter will be without Dalbert, with the left-back nursing a cruciate ligament injury that has kept him out of action since June 22, 2023.
Inzaghi will also be without the services of experienced center-back Milan Skriniar. The 28-year-old is sidelined with a lumbar vertebra fracture; he has been on the sidelines since April 19, 2023.
Attacking midfielder Henrick Mkhitaryan is also out with a hamstring injury.
