It has been an excellent period in Albanian football, and they could achieve a monumental feat this week if they are able to register a victory on the road against Moldova. The national side has only managed to gain qualification for one previous edition of the EUROs, reaching the group stage in the 2016 edition. However, they are on course to gain qualification for Germany next year. 

Albania currently sit top of the Group E standings after six rounds of matches after winning four of their six matches. They at least come into this match in excellent recent form, as they have gone three without defeat in Group E. Moldova played out a draw in their most recent fixture, which ended a two-game winning sequence. However, positives would have been taken from that tie against Poland away from home.
