The Red Devils are currently on a course of their revival. They are aiming for one spot in the Champions League next year. Their series of surprisingly impressive results against big teams such as Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City last week might be the proof of their comeback to the elite circle of EPL soon. This weekend, they will be hosting Everton, whose confidence has been up in the air after defeating Chelsea previously.
Solksjaer’s men had their memorable victory after they dismantled their nosy neighbor as well as the defending champions, Manchester City 2-1 in Etihad Stadium. The speedy duo Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford bagged the winning goals before Guardiola’s men responded by Nicolas Otamendi’s header.
The Toffees just appointed his former player in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Duncan Ferguson as the caretaker manager after sacking Marco Silva. Apparently, such a decision led to a positive result by winning over Chelsea 3-1. Richarlison scored an opener while Dominic Calvert-Levin doubled the lead and closed the score sheet to seal three points at home.
Solskajer is likely to opt for 4-3-3 formation with a possible transition to 4-2-3-1 with a more pragmatic approach. He relies on the tight marking as well as closing down in the penalty box followed by the swift counter-attack. Marcus Rashford is the key man to score.
Meanwhile, Duncan Fergusson seems to be sticking to the same formation, 4-2-3-1 with young talented versatile Tom Davies for various roles, from central midfielder or playmaker.
Solskjaer’s men have been applauding their new blood this season, the former Leicester man, Harry Maguire and Daniel James plus Aaron Wan Bissaka. Other notable names in the squad beside Marcus Rashford are Anthony Martial with his six goals and three assists and Scott McTominay who has netted three goals so far.
In Everton’s squad, their top performers are the Brazilian Richarlison, two wingbacks, Lucas Digne and Djibril Sidibe. They both have provided three assists each.
Marcus Rashford and Co has to be careful as their contender seems to be in a good spirit under the caretaker. However, their positive trend and playing at their home turf should be motivating them to secure another three points here.
With all advantages on their side, The Red Devils are the favorite in this game according to the punters. They are projected to win at 1.74. In contrast, Jermain Pickford and Co’s win market is only at 4.65. Meanwhile, the draw result is at a value of 3.65.
