Brentford will also have a point to prove this weekend, as the Bees are sliding toward the relegation places after failing to win across their last five matches in the Premier League. The Bees at least ended a two-game losing run in their previous match, as they played out a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Thomas Frank lamented refereeing decisions following that tie, as he believed that his side should have been awarded a penalty following a foul on Yoanne Wissa in the second period. Their only effort was netted by Christian Norgaard, before the hosts drew level with 25 minutes remaining on the clock.
United have won three of their four Premier League matches against the Bees, which includes both of the previous two clashes between the sides at Old Trafford. Their most recent win was a 1-0 success at the Theatre of Dreams in April. However, Brentford did land a 4-0 win on matchday two last term.
Something needs to change for United, as the pressure is mounting following a really poor start to the new season. However, this will be a testing fixture against a Brentford side that are very good on the break. For that reason, we could see the Bees picking up maximum points on Saturday.
