Sociedad’s Champions League hopes have been hit over their last five games in La Liga, as they have picked up just two victories during that time. This is the game in hand that they have over a number of their rivals, and it could put them to within a single point of Barcelona.
The Spanish side picked up a hard-fought victory in their last fixture, as they managed to claim a 1-0 victory against Osasuna. The only goal of the game was scored in the 52nd minute by Aritz Elustondo. Another strong effort will be required here.
Sociedad have picked up victories in the last four meetings between the sides in La Liga. They are yet to concede during that run, and have scored a total of eight goals in the process. Their latest win came in October, as they won 1-0 at home.
Mallorca will be confident coming into this fixture. However, we can’t see past Sociedad taking the points. Their excellent record in this fixture is a bonus, while their win over Osasuna at the weekend could have been pivotal towards their confidence.
