Real Madrid will be looking to take another stride toward the La Liga title this weekend when they look to record a fourth straight victory in the competition against Mallorca. The hosts will also be looking to go three matches without defeat in Spain.
The action in the Spanish top flight continues this weekend, as Real Madrid will be aiming toward taking another step toward winning the La Liga title. The Spanish side comes into this round of matches in excellent recent form after winning each of their last three matches, which leaves them eight points clear at the summit.
Real look very challenging to catch at this stage of the season, as they are showing no sign of dropping points. Los Blancos come into this round after winning 23 of their 30 matches this season, while they have suffered a league-low of just one defeat. Their most recent league win was picked up at the end of March when they secured a 2-0 home win against Athletic Club. Rodrygo netted both goals in that comfortable success.
Mallorca will still have one eye on the relegation battle taking place behind them. The Spanish side have won six of their 30 matches this season, but they have suffered defeats in eleven of their matches already this term. But, they do have a comfortable advantage over the bottom three places, as they sit six clear of 18th-place Cadiz.
Mallorca have also shown better recent form in the competition after losing on just one occasion in their last five league matches. But, they have scored just once in their last three fixtures. Their most recent outing came in the Copa del Rey final where they were agonizingly beaten by Bilbao on penalties.
Real Madrid boasts a very reliable record in this fixture after winning five of the last six league meetings between these sides. That includes a 1-0 in the reverse clash this term. However, Mallorca did land a 1-0 win in this exact fixture last season.
This could be a good time to face Real given that they have two huge matches against Man City either side of this fixture. Therefore, we could see the runaway leaders dropping points on Saturday, with a draw being the most likely outcome.
