Marseille have at least shown some character in their previous outings in the league, having fallen to just two defeats in their last five. A welcome return to winning ways also arrived last weekend, as they secured a 2-0 home success against Rennes. Lorient will also have a point to prove this weekend, as they are flirting dangerously with the bottom two spots in the league standings. They come into the weekend sitting in the relegation playoff spot, and they have recorded just two victories in their first 14 matches in the French top flight this term. Wins have also been hard to come by in recent weeks, as they have failed to land maximum points in their last five. 

But, they ended a two-game losing run in their latest match, as they recorded a 1-1 draw on the road against Toulouse. Their equalising effort in that fixture was netted in injury time by Bamba Dieng.
