They bagged all three points in their most recent league match, beating Newcastle United 2-1 at St James Park before hammering Stoke City 4-0 in the FA Cup a week ago. Confidence is high in the camp.
Saints shock Reds
Southampton are holding their own in the top half of the Premier League table and with 17 games played they have high hopes of finishing in the European places. Saints have won eight, drawn five and lost four games to date, scoring 26 goals but conceding 19. The 29 points gained means they are level with Tottenham in fourth and unbeaten in their last three.
Saints started the year as they hope to go on by recoding an upset win over last season’s champions Liverpool at St Mary’s Stadium on 4 January. Many respected pundits had the Reds picked to win but an early goal from Ings scored inside the first two minutes of the game, was enough to see Southampton grab an unlikely victory. That was their only other game this year.

This game will be shown live on television and is sure to provide armchair fans with their fair share of entertainment. Both teams are in high spirits and both will believe they are good enough to secure an important three points.
