After three consecutive losses in the league and mounting relegation worries, Leicester will welcome Chelsea to the King Power Stadium on Saturday for a three-point clash, with kickoff slated for 15:00 GMT.

Chelsea will look to make it two consecutive wins in the league, whereas Leicester will be looking for their first win in four Premier League matches.

Key Highlights

Leicester’s Losing Run

After the surprise 4-1 win over Tottenham in February, Leicester have lost three consecutive games in the league and were knocked out of the FA Cup 5th round in a dreadful run of form.

Losses to Manchester United (3-0), Arsenal (0-1), and Southampton (1-0), and a 5th-round Cup exit to Blackburn Rovers (1-2) have seen relegation fears increase at the King Power Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers’ men are hovering just 2 points above the relegation zone; this will worry the Foxes as they look to beat the drop this season.

Rodgers will look to set their form right in time ahead of their home clash against out-of-form Chelsea on Saturday.

Chelsea’s Winless Run

Graham Potter’s winless streak and the mounting pressure on the former Brighton gaffer received some reprieve when Chelsea ran out 1-0 winners against relegation-threatened Leeds last weekend.

Potter will look to make this dawn stick when they travel to the King Power Stadium to face an out-of-sorts but sometimes dangerous Leicester side fighting for survival this season.

Chelsea will especially look to fix their problems in front of goal; their attacking play has not been rewarded with goals recently, which have been a major problem and source of concern for Graham Potter and the Chelsea faithful.

Injury Report

Leicester

Brendan Rodgers will be without left-back Ryan Bertrand; the 33-year-old underwent knee surgery and has been out of action since February 7, 2022.

Leicester will also be without right-back James Justice with the 25-year-old facing an Achilles tendon rupture since November 8, 2022.

Center-back Jonny Evans is also sidelined with a calf injury. The 35-year-old has been missing in action since December 10, 2022.

Chelsea

Potter and Chelsea will miss the leadership and defensive nous of experienced Brazilian center-back Thiago Silva, who is sidelined with a ligament injury.

Influential right-back Reece James has been struggling with a hamstring problem since March 1st and might be unable to shake it before the King Power trip.

Chelsea will also be without attacking midfielder Mason Mount, who is facing a bruised pelvis and has already missed 2 matches for the Blues already since February 28th.

Defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante is closing in on a return; however, the match against Leicester might come too soon for the midfield enforcer.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (shoulder) and Armando Broja (cruciate ligament rupture) are also out of the Leicester match.

Possible Lineups

Leicester

D. Ward; T. Castagne, W. Faes, H. Souttar, R. Pereira; N. Mendy, K. Dewsbury-Hall; H. Barnes, J. Maddison, Tete; K. Iheanacho

Chelsea

K. Arrizabalaga; W. Fofana, K. Koulibaly, B. Badiashile; R. Loftus-Cheek, E. Fernandez, M. Kovacic, B. Chilwell; R. Sterling, K. Havertz, J. Felix

Prediction

Leicester will look to be compact in midfield areas while retaining solidity at the back. A disciplined performance will see them defend deep and use the counter-attack to put Chelsea under pressure at the back.

Chelsea will look to dominate the ball, control midfield, set the match’s tempo, and use intricate passing to create chances in the final third. They will look to quicken their passing while using the press to win the ball back as soon as losing it.

Chelsea will have the edge and will win this close clash between two out-of-form teams in the league.
