Leicester City will have the opportunity to move back into second place for at least a couple of hours in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, as they welcome Arsenal to the King Power Stadium.
Premier League Preview
Leicester City look to have learned their lessons from last season so far this term, as they are looking like a much stronger unit than 12 months ago. Fans will remember that the Foxes fell away in the race for a top-four finish last season, but they are in much better form this time around. Leicester have won three of their last four games, and have lost just once in six outings in the league recently. The Foxes picked up a narrow win in their last league outing, as they held on to win 2-1 at Villa Park, after goals from Harvey Barnes and James Maddison. The latter of those players looks set to be out for a couple of weeks now, but there is still enough quality in their attacking third to ask serious questions of Arsenal this weekend.
The Gunners will kick off this game in the bottom half of the Premier League standings, and could be as low as 13th depending on other results before they get underway at the King Power. Such is their fall from grace that a mid-table finish this season doesn’t even appear to be a huge talking point around Europe. The only way that they will be playing Champions League football next season will be if they win the Europa League this term. Mikel Arteta may soon switch his attention to that competition, which could mean that a number of first-team players may be rested in the league. However, it’s likely that Arsenal will be at full strength for this trip to the East Midlands.
Leicester City vs Arsenal Head To Head
Leicester have an excellent record against Arsenal in the Premier League over recent seasons, as they have lost just once in the last six. That defeat came at the Emirates in 2018. Since then, Leicester have won three of the four games that they have played against the Gunners. They have also won the last three at the King Power.
Leicester City vs Arsenal Prediction
Leicester are a much better side than the Gunners this season, as they are stronger in every position. If they are at their best this weekend, then they will have no problems claiming maximum points against Arteta’s side.
