PSG turn their attention back to Ligue 1 this weekend after picking up a fortunate point against Newcastle in the Champions League. They face a challenging assignment on the road against Le Havre.
The French league leaders return to domestic action this weekend, as they look to maintain their winning sequence in Ligue 1. PSG avoided a scare midweek, as they were handed a controversial penalty to salvage a draw against Newcastle United. However, their league form has picked up under Luis Enrique in recent months, and they come into this fixture after winning their last five.
The Parisians sit a point clear at the top of the standings, meaning that only a victory will ensure that they remain at the summit this weekend. PSG were excellent in their previous league match, as they recorded a stunning 5-2 home success against Monaco last Friday. Five different players found the net in that win in Paris, including Goncalo Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, and Randal Kolo Muani.
Le Havre should present an interesting challenge for PSG this weekend, as the French side has gone five without defeat in the league. Meanwhile, they have been a challenging side to beat throughout this term, as they have suffered just three defeats in their 13 previous Ligue 1 matches.
But, draws have been a recurring issue for Le Havre so far this term, as they have played out ties in seven matches already this term, including in four of their previous five. They were disappointing in the final third last weekend, as they failed to register a single shot on target when playing out a 0-0 draw against Nantes away from home.
PSG have won both fixtures between these sides since the start of 2009. The latest clash came in a friendly in July 2023, with PSG landing a 2-0 win at home. Meanwhile, the previous top-flight battle between the sides saw the Parisians secure a 3-0 home win in April 2009.
Le Havre’s excellent unbeaten record will be put to the test this weekend, but they have already shown that they have been a tough nut to crack. Therefore, an interesting betting selection for this French fixture on Sunday may be on Le Havre on the (+2) handicap.
