In the second qualifying round, Gent faced MSK Zilina over two legs. In the home leg at the Ghelamco Arena, Gent won 5-1 before prevailing away to Zilina 2-5, thus proceeding with a healthy 2-10 aggregate scoreline.
Pogon Szczecin have also perfectly started their Ekstraklasa campaign with two wins out of two. They won 0-1 away to Warta Poznan in the opening match before beating Widzew Lodz 2-1 in the second match.
