Juventus vs Torino Prediction: Serie A Match on 28.02.2023

It will be eighth versus ninth when 8th-placed Juventus take on 9th-placed Torino in a Serie A derby on Tuesday at 19:45 GMT.

Juventus, who are 11 points off the top four after 23 rounds of fixtures in Serie A, having been deducted points this season, will be looking to get the three points to aid their bid to make it into European places.

Torino, who are winless in the last 2 matches, will be looking for a derby win over their rivals at the Juventus Stadium.

Key Highlights

Juventus’ Winning Run

Juventus have responded well to the shock home defeat against Monza by bouncing back with three straight points in Serie A against Salernitana, Fiorentina, and Spezia.

Massimiliano Allegri will be looking to maintain his side’s good form in the league, especially the 3 clean sheets they have kept in the run of three consecutive wins.

Although form goes out of the window during derby day, Juventus will be looking to leverage home advantage over their city rivals on Tuesday as they look to step up their consistency and performances in the league.

Torino’s Inconsistency

Inconsistency has been Torino’s undoing this season. After going three matches unbeaten – two wins and one draw – Ivan Jurić and his charges have followed this up with a defeat and a draw.

Overall, they have taken 8 points and dropped 7 in their last five Serie A assignments. This run of form highlights their hot and cold dynamic this season that sees them in 9th on the table, 13 points off the top four.

Ivan Jurić will be looking to get his side to play at a better level. Motivation will not be a challenge, given this is a derby match. However, the gaffer will be looking for his charges to be disciplined, compact, and clever in using the ball and opening up spaces.

Injury Report

Juventus

Massimiliano Allegri will be without center-forward Arkadisusz Milik; the 28-year-old is nursing a biceps femoris muscle injury since January 29, 2023.

Central midfielder Fabio Miretti is also out of the derby match on Tuesday with an ankle distortion; the 19-year-old has missed 7 matches since February 7, 2023.

Juventus will also be without central midfielder Paul Pogba, who is out with an unknown injury, while center-forward Kaio Jorge is facing a fitness issue ahead of the clash with Torino.

Torino

Ivan Jurić will be without several first-team players ahead of the visit to the Juventus Stadium. Right-back Valentino Lazaro is out with a sideband tear in the knee. 22-year-old center-back David Zima is also sidelined with a meniscal injury.

Torino will also be without the services of defensive midfielder Samuele Ricci, with the 21-year-old recovering from a calf injury.

Other players that will be unavailable for Ivan Jurić in the derby match include central midfielder Ronaldo Vieira (bruised knee), Center-forward Pietro Pellegri (biceps femoris muscle injury), and attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic (thigh problems)

Prediction
