It has been a challenging period for Juventus, as they have lost increasing ground on Inter Milan at the top of the standings. They will have the perfect opportunity to get back on track this weekend when they welcome Frosinone to the Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
It has been a season-defining couple of weeks for Juventus in Serie A, and it would appear as though their challenge for the league title has petered out. The Old Lady come into this round sitting nine points behind Inter in the title race, having played a game more than their rivals. But, this weekend presents them with an opportunity to get back on track to hold off AC Milan in the battle for second.
Juventus have been in concerning form in recent weeks in the league after failing to claim a victory in their last four victories. Over that period, they have also suffered two defeats. But, they ended their losing sequence in Serie A last weekend after playing out a thrilling draw away from home against Hellas Verona. The crucial equalising effort for Juventus in that fixture was netted in the second period by Adrien Rabiot.
Frosinone are also struggling for form at this stage of the season, as they have seen their advantage over the bottom three places diminish to just three points. They come into this round after suffering defeats in each of their last three matches, while they have gone four without a success.
The Italian side also currently has the worst defensive record in Serie A, having allowed a staggering 52 goals in their 25 matches this term. Their most recent setback was suffered in the form of a 3-0 loss against AS Roma last Sunday.
Juventus has picked up five victories from their six matches against Frosinone since the start of 2015. That includes victories in each of the last four top-flight clashes between the sides. The Old Lady were 3-0 winners in their last league home match against their rivals.
The trends certainly point to the most likely outcome this weekend being a home win for Juventus. We expect them to get their campaign back on track by picking up a 2-0 victory over Frosinone.
