Derby Della Madonnina is on the clock. Nerazzurri seem to be finding their feet back on the title race after their previous positive result, although it still takes more effort to stumble the ‘almost perfect’ Juventus, which is back on the top again since last month.
This weekend, Antonio Conte’s men will be taking on their local rival, AC Milan. Il Rossonero has been struggling to return to the elite this season. The fierce clash between these two teams is expected with Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the main figure as he was once also the main frontman in Inter Milan twelve years ago.
Inter Milan finally managed to end the series of draw results. In the away fixture against Udinese, Conte’s men trashed the host 2-0. Romelu Lukaku’s brace gave them an important win to bring back their fading confidence to win Serie A this season.
Meanwhile, AC Milan’s positive run had to stop last week. They were held in a 1-1 draw while hosting Hellas Verona. They were conceded first by Marco Faraoni. Yet, they only responded with one goal by Hakan Calhanoglu’s free-kick.
Antonio Conte tends to employ 3-5-2 relying on the dynamic duo, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. The arrival of Christian Eriksen, Ashley Young and Victor Moses is really great addition for the team for the rest of the season. Conte also gives more chances to the local talents from the academy. The presence of them in the team such as Alessandro Bastoni, Stefano Sensi, Nicola Barella and the youngster forward Sebastiano Esposito.
His counterpart, Stefano Pioli, who once led Inter in the 2016/2017 season, is currently in favor of 4-4-2 formation to spare one spot for Ibrahimovic. He mainly relies on the Rafael Leao and Ibrahimovic or Ante Rebic as the main scorer.
Since his arrival from Manchester United, Romelu Lukaku has been the key figure in Inter. He has scored eighteen goals and provided four assists in Serie A and European competition. Another notable one is his former teammate in Old Trafford, the versatile Ashley Young.
In Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to San Siro does create a positive atmosphere in the squad. He could encourage his teammates to bring their best for the team. It is proven by the rising form of the Croatian forward Ante Rebic, as well as Rafael Leao and Hakan Calhanoglu.
This game is considered to be even. Both teams are finding themselves on the right foot. Milan’s positive result might lead them to another potential one point unless the host’s frontmen, whose form has been more stable, could optimize all the shots into goals. Expect a flurry of goals from both sides.
This game is potentially even. However, Mario Brozovic and Co deserve to be the favourite. They are backed to win at 1.95. The odds for a draw are 3.40 whereas Frank Kessie and Co are valued to win at 4.10.
