AC Milan continue their Serie A campaign this weekend, as they bid to record a fifth win in six. Frosinone will be the home side on Saturday, with the hosts chasing maximum points for the second time in three games.
It has been a strong season to this point for Milan, as they are comfortably sitting in the Champions League spots after 22 rounds of matches. The Italian side has won 14 times this term, while they have suffered just four defeats. Milan also rank among the highest scorers in the competition, with only Inter having scored more goals at this point.
Frosinone have been somewhat of a surprise package in Italy to this point, as they have eased clear of the relegation places after winning six of their matches this term. They will need to work hard defensively this weekend though, having already allowed a staggering 41 goals in 22 matches in Serie A.
But, huge respect should be given to the hosts, as they have bounced back to form impressively after losing five on the bounce. They haven’t lost in their last two, and they could go three without a defeat for the first time since September. Their home form could also be a very key angle this weekend, as they have picked up 20 points from their eleven matches.
That is more points than they have picked up from their last two seasons in Serie A. Going forward, they have also netted 29 goals this term, which is as many as they had managed throughout the entirety of the previous season that they were in the competition. In fact, they have only scored more goals in one Serie A season in their history.
Milan boasts the advantage based on previous meetings after going seven without a defeat against Frosinone. They have recorded three wins over that period, with two matches ending in draws. Across the five top-flight matches between the sides, Milan have netted 12 goals, which is double the amount scored by Frosinone.
This should be a good attacking match between two talented sides in Italy this weekend. However, Milan’s dominant overall record against their rivals appears hard to overlook. Therefore, we will be siding with the away team claiming maximum points on Saturday.
