One of the best performing sides in Italy will play their final match before Christmas on Saturday. Juventus come into the weekend sitting second in the standings, and they could move to within one point of the summit with victory over Frosinone.
It has been an excellent revival from Juventus this term, as they have put themselves back into the mix for the Serie A title. The Old Lady come into the latest round of matches in the Italian competition sitting second in the standings after winning eleven of their 16 matches this term. Meanwhile, they have won three of their last five.
Frosinone will also be encouraged by the start to the season that they have made in Italy this term, as they sit just outside the top half in the standings. They would have been among the favourites to suffer relegation before a ball was kicked this term, but their overall form has been impressive. However, they will need to an e three-game winless run in the competition.
A cause for concern this weekend would be Frosinone’s record against sides sitting in the top two positions in the Serie A standings. The Italian side have lost all eight of their matches against sides sitting either first or second. Meanwhile, they have failed to score in any fixture over that period, and they have conceded at least two goals per game.
Juventus were held in their latest match in Italy by Genoa, and they could record two straight draws for the first time in Serie A since September 2022 this weekend. However, they have a decent defensive record after keeping five clean sheets in eight away matches in 2023-24.
Frosinone are yet to record a victory in six attempts against Juventus. They have played out just one draw over that period, and have suffered five defeats. The Old Lady have netted a total of eleven goals over that run, and they have conceded just once.
The hosts have been excellent in front of their home fans this term, as they have gone seven without defeat. Only Juventus and Bologna can currently boast identical records in home matches. Therefore, a shock result may not as unlikely as the odds suggest this weekend, and a chance could be taken on the points being shared for the second time in seven clashes between these teams.
