Stuttgart will desperately be looking to end a run of two straight defeats in the Bundesliga this weekend when they travel to Frankfurt. However, there will also be pressure on Eintracht, as they have picked up just a single win from their last four matches.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s place in the European spots in the Bundesliga is coming under increasing pressure, as they have dropped to sixth in the standings. They now sit three points off the Champions League places, and they have picked up just a single victory from their last four matches. Over that same period, they have suffered two defeats, and they come into this home match having failed to win their last two.
Frankfurt at least avoided a second straight defeat in their most recent fixture, as they played out a very entertaining 2-2 draw on the road against Wolfsburg. All four goals in the match were netted in the opening half, with Randal Kolo Muani equalising for Frankfurt after 22 minutes. Evan Ndicka then put the visitors ahead, before Wolfsburg equalised on the stroke of half time.
Things are slightly more desperate for Stuttgart at the opposite end of the standings, as they sit 15th in the Bundesliga table coming into the fixtures this weekend. They have lost four of their last five matches, and have suffered back-to-back defeats coming into this game on the road. Stuttgart is now just outside of the relegation places on goal difference.
In their most recent fixture, they were narrowly beaten at home by Bayern Munich. The German champions were 2-0 ahead after 62 minutes, but Stuttgart responded with an effort with just two minutes remaining. However, the relegation contenders were only allowed a consolation as Bayern made a number of changes ahead of their Champions League showdown with PSG.
Frankfurt’s recent record in this fixture is very strong, as they have gone seven without defeat against Stuttgart, winning on four occasions over that period. The hosts this weekend have also landed wins in each of their previous two clashes with Stuttgart.
Frankfurt’s excellent record in this fixture is the most interesting betting angle for this fixture on Saturday in the Bundesliga. We expect Frankfurt to bounce back to winning ways this weekend with a 2-1 home win over Stuttgart.
