The Portuguese giants managed to see off Midtylland in the previous round, eventually winning 7-2 on aggregate. Benfica took a healthy advantage from the first leg, with Goncalo Ramos scoring a hat-trick, and Enzo Fernandez also finding the back of the net. Fernandez also scored the second leg, as Benfica ran out 3-1 winners in Denmark. The other goals in the victory were scored by Henrique Araujo and Diogo Goncalves.
