It has been a slow start to the Bundesliga season for both Borussia Monchengladbach and Darmstadt 98, as both are still searching for a first league victory of the new season. There will be pressure on the away side this weekend, as they currently sit in 16th after failing to win in their opening three matches. 

That illustrates a really poor start to the campaign, especially considering that fans would have been hoping for a European push this term. After picking up a point on the opening day, Gladbach have been beaten in each of their last two matches. They have suffered three straight defeats at the start of the new season, and they have scored just two goals across those matches. They will need to improve defensively after already allowing ten goals this term. 

Their most recent defeat was suffered on the road, as they fell to a 5-1 loss against Bayer Leverkusen. Darmstadt had few answers for Leverkusen on that day, as they managed to record just a single shot on target from their 27% of the possession. A much-improved performance will be required this weekend.
