Dallas Stars

Dallas lost too many games at the end of the regular season, although a good start allowed them to count on getting into the top four and a straight pass to the Round of 16. The key to success was the solid defensive line: only 177 goals conceded, which is the best indicator.  

In the struggle for places, the Stars suffered two heavy defeats and only once won, and even then with great difficulty. At first, they equalized with St. Louis before the siren and then secured a victory in the shootouts 2-1 SO. 

Calgary Flames

Calgary finished the regular championship in eighth position, although during the forced vacation they got in fantastic shape and are ready to go far. Despite the defeat, in the pre-season game with Edmonton 1-4, the Flames looked better than their opponents and deserved to win a friendly match. 

In the previous stage of the Stanley Cup, they only once lost to the rather strong Winnipeg (2-3), and even then they only conceded the decisive goal while killing the penalty. 

Dallas Stars – Calgary Flames prediction

In our opinion, the Flames are quite capable of imposing a fight in the second game in a row. In the previous stage, they looked just amazing, which cannot be said about their counterpart. The Stars showed very boring hockey in the offense, and their defense seemed to have lost concentration. Without penalties, all other things being equal, the Stars have minimal chances, they will have to rely on the opponent’s mistakes.
