Wolves finally got off the mark for the new season with a win over Everton on matchday three. However, they will face a slightly different challenge this weekend when they travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.
Wolves made a slow start to the new Premier League season, but any doubts that they could get dragged into the bottom three over the opening month were cast aside last weekend, as they battled to a 1-0 win on the road against Everton. However, the West Midlands club will be looking to back up that effort when they travel to Selhurst Park this weekend.
It was a fine win for Wolves on the road at Goodison, with their winning goal being netted with just three minutes remaining by Sasa Kaladjdzic. The striker will have an important role to play for the club this term after missing out on almost the entirety of the previous campaign due to injury. The win was the third straight time that Wolves have won at Goodison, and they will be hoping to continue their hot streak on the road on Sunday.
Crystal Palace made a winning start to the new season, but they have failed to back up that performance level in each of their previous two matches. The Eagles at least avoided losing for the second straight match in their most recent fixture, as they battled to a point on the road against Brentford.
A point was the very least that they deserved in that fixture, as they were actually the better team for long periods. Palace also bounced back to winning ways in the EFL Cup in midweek, as they came back from 2-0 down to land a 4-2 victory at Plymouth Argyle.
Wolves landed a 2-0 win in the most recent clash between these sides in April. That win ended a four-game winless sequence against the Eagles. Over that period, Palace had picked up four straight wins, which includes three straight victory at Selhurst Park.
Selhurst Park hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Wolves in recent seasons, and that poor record looks set to continue this weekend. We will be siding with Palace landing victory on Sunday, with under 2.5 goals being scored in the Premier League fixture.
