The chief referee of the KHL, Alexey Anisimov, summed up the referees’ work in the first part of the regular season.
“I am not ready to give an assessment, since many of the leading referees were sick and missed matches, then they recovered and so far had very few games. Only when everyone is in the ranks – including the top refs – it will be possible to talk about their professionalism. It is easier now to evaluate the work of individual referees. Some worked poorly, some, on the contrary, made me happy. With those who have not yet shown the proper level of professionalism conversations and classes are being held. And, as before, traditionally on Mondays, all refs receive a detailed analysis of all their judgements from us.
I want to thank those who took on the extra workload, especially those who did a lot more work than they are accustomed to. Those who came out on replacement did not spoil the image of the league, and this is the main thing. But still, we understand that it takes more than one year to reach the level of the KHL. This is a significant and thorough work,” the press service of the KHL quotes Anisimov.
