They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 16 matches with home field advantage. Only three teams in the history of the Champions League have waited longer for a home victory.
Atletico Madrid will be the clear favourites in the betting this week, and their chances of success are certainly aided by the fact that Spanish opposition has landed victories on each of their previous three meetings against Celtic following a 2-1 defeat for Barcelona in November 2012.
This will be the seventh time Atletico and Celtic have clashed in a European competition. Atletico is unbeaten in six matches against their Scottish rivals, landing victories on four occasions. The most recent of those defeats came in the 2011-12 Europa League group stage.
It looks very challenging to take on Atletico Madrid this week. Their chances are certainly aided by the fact that Celtic have won just once in their previous 23 matches in the Champions League.
