Brentford will be back in front of their home fans for the second straight weekend on Saturday, as they bid to get back on track after losing their last two. Luton Town will be the visitors, as they chase a second straight win to move clear of the bottom three.
Brentford will be looking to get back on track in the Premier League this weekend after suffering back-to-back defeats in the competition. These defeats have seen the Bees drop to eleventh in the standings, and they could concede a few more places this weekend if they aren’t able to get back to winning ways in the competition.
Brentford’s most recent defeat was suffered at home against Arsenal. The Bees had more than enough opportunities in that fixture to take the lead, but they were made to pay for their missed chances in the final minutes. That defeat ended Brentford’s excellent run in London derbies, as they had gone 15 matches without defeat against sides from the capital. However, the loss was their fourth without a win against the Gunners in the league.
Luton will be in good confidence ahead of this match on the road, as the Hatters recorded their second win of the campaign last weekend. That success has opened up a four-point gap over the bottom three, and they could rise in the Premier League standings if they are able to record back-to-back wins for the first time this term on Saturday.
Luton were excellent against Crystal Palace on Saturday, as they scored twice in the final 20 minutes to land maximum points. Their winning goal was scored with just seven minutes remaining, as Jacob Brown netted the winner. Teden Mengi had scored the opening goal for the Hatters.
This will be the first league meeting between these sides since Brentford landed a 1-0 win in the Championship in 2021. The Bees have won three of the previous four, with Luton’s only win against the Bees coming at Kenilworth Road in February 2020.
This is a really interesting fixture in the Premier League this weekend. We could see over 2.5 goals being scored in the match, but the narrow preference would be for Brentford to continue their winning sequence against the Hatters.
