Group D at Women’s EURO 2022 gets underway on Sunday at the Academy Stadium in Manchester, as Belgium and Iceland clash. They were strong at both ends of the pitch throughout qualification, as they scored 37 goals and allowed just five. Iceland needed to qualify for the EUROS the hard way after they finished second in their qualifying group. But, their superior record meant that they finished as one of the best runners-up. They more than held their own in that group, as they finished just three points behind Sweden. Iceland won six of the eight games that they played, and only lost on one occasion.
Iceland will be playing at the EUROs for the fourth time this year. Their previous best appearance came in 2013 as they reached the quarterfinals, but they were eliminated in the group stage back in 2017 after losing all their games.

This will be the fourth time that Belgium and Iceland have clashed. Both sides have picked up victories previously, while one match ended in a 0-0 draw. The most recent fixture between the sides came in 2016, with Iceland winning 2-1.
