Bayern Munich will be back in Bundesliga action this weekend, as they look to put pressure on Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the standings. The German giants will welcome Heidenheim to the Allianz Arena, as the visitors look to climb the standings.
It has been a strong start to the 2023-24 season by Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich, but despite their eight wins in ten matches, they remain second in the Bundesliga standings at this stage. The Bavarian giants currently find themselves two points behind Leverkusen in the standings, but a victory this weekend could see them go into the international break on top.
Bayern come into this fixture in excellent recent form in the league, as they have won each of their previous four. They also boast the best attack and defence in the competition at this early stage. Bayern were excellent last weekend, as they secured a stunning 4-0 away win against Borussia Dortmund. Harry Kane was the star of the show, as the England captain scored a stunning hat-trick against Dortmund.
Heidenheim eased the pressure on their shoulders last weekend, as they ended a three-game losing sequence with a shock victory against Stuttgart. The victory was enough to move the German side up to 13th in the standings, and it was their third victory in ten league matches this term.
However, their defensive record will be put to the test this weekend, as they have already allowed 22 goals across their fixtures this term. But, they were strong at the back against an in-form Stuttgart last weekend, as they landed a shock 2-0 home win. Both of their efforts were netted in the final 20 minutes, with Jan Schnoppner, and Tim Kleindienst finding the net.
This will only be the second meeting between these sides since the start of 2019. The only previous encounter came in the quarterfinal stage of the DFB Pokal, with Bayern eventually landing a 5-4 success after a thrilling tie between the German sides.
Bayern’s recent form looks to be the key angle before making a wager this weekend. We struggle to see the hosts dropping points on Saturday, and we could see Kane finding the net once again in a comfortable victory for the Bavarian giants.
