Despite that form, they remain sixth in the Serie A standings, and will need a victory this weekend to fend off competition from Juventus. 

Atalanta will also need maximum points this weekend to keep their hopes alive for a Champions League finish, as they currently sit two points off Inter Milan. However, the hosts this weekend were in excellent form in their previous fixture, as they recorded a fine 3-1 success on the road against Cremonese. Bologna is one of the teams that could mount a late challenge for a European finish this term, as they currently sit eighth in the Serie A standings. They are currently eight points off Atalanta, but have been in fine recent form after going three without a defeat. However, over that period, their only win was recorded last weekend.
