That may be something that Arteta will look to address during the winter transfer window, but it’s unlikely that the Gunners will be able to bring in a high-calibre player as they are short on funds.
Newcastle United haven’t won in their last six league games, and they have lost four times during that run of form. That pattern of form has seen the Magpies drift closer to the relegation places, and they will make their trip to the Emirates with just a seven-point advantage over 18th placed Fulham. Newcastle needed to endure to embarrassment of being the first side beaten by Sheffield United this season in midweek, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat. Steve Bruce’s side will also be without Ryan Fraser for this fixture, as he was sent off on the stroke of half-time in that defeat.
