Arsenal vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction: Europa League Match on 28.11.2019
Arsenal are looking to get out of a crisis as Unai Emery and his men welcome the German Eintracht Frankfurt in an attempt to secure the knockout phase of the Europa League.
The Gunners are topping their group with ten points to their name. Even though Arsenal are struggling domestically, the European success was constant this season. However, Eintracht Frankfurt and Standard Liege are both four points behind, and only a win today can give them peace of mind, given that they must travel to Belgium to face Standard in the last fixture.
Series of issues at the Emirates
However, even though things are solid in Europe, the Premier League is an entirely different story. Winning is an unknown word for the Gunners in the league lately. Five matches without a triumph brought Emery to a hot seat, while Granit Xhaka’s captaincy situation and uncertainty over Mesut Ozil definitely didn’t help his cause.
To top it all off, the team’s newly-appointed captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang already stirred some controversies by being connected to AFTV, a group of fans notorious for criticizing Arsenal players week in and week out. However, Auba did his talking on the pitch, where he scored eight Premier League goals, pulling the team up even when they played some underwhelming football.
A lot is left to be desired by Nicolas Pepe. Aside from a couple of flashes of brilliance, the €80-million signing couldn’t live up to his reputation, although it’s still early days.
Missed opportunity for Eintracht
On the other end, Adolf Hutter is having some similar issues to Emery. Even though the atmosphere isn’t as toxic as it is in North London, Eintracht are sitting in the middle of the Bundesliga table, far away from the European spots that they wish to reclaim.
The heart-breaking loss to Standard in the last fixture of the Europa League didn’t help – the Germans were seconds away from drawing, which would help them secure the second place. However, it all fell down the drain when the team’s defense was slow to react and Maxime Lestienne took the advantage and scored in the dying seconds of the match.
Two teams in crisis face each other, but they’re both motivated to get a win today. The Germans will rely on Goncalo Paciencia to deliver the points, while Arsenal put their hopes in the Martinelli-led youth brigade that carried them to three wins and a draw in the Europa League so far. Both teams have the intention to score, and with unstable defenses on both ends, they are likely to do so.
