Girona will certainly be the favoured selection among many after they have impressed on the road after going nine without defeat. Seven victories have been recorded over that period, which has been their joint-best run away from home in the top-flight.
These two sides have clashed on three previous occasions in La Liga. Each of the last three meetings have been won by the side with home field advantage. A total of 20 goals have been scored across the previous fixtures, meaning its average of 6.7 goals per game is the most in La Liga history.
Almeria’s leaky defence looks set to suffer this weekend, as Girona have been one of the best attacking teams in the competition this term. We fully expect the shock title contenders to continue their excellent record on the road, and we could see them recording a 4-1 win.
