AC Milan vs Roma Prediction: Serie A Match on 26.10.2020

Top football fixtures continue to come at us thick and fast as the focus turns from the midweek Champions League and Europa League games to the weekend domestic action. Those with a passion for Italian football have a treat in store as AC Milan host Roma in the only match to be played in the competition on Monday evening.

AC Milan and Roma are amongst the most famous names in Italian football and have met 66 times in the past on competitive action. Milan have enjoyed the lion’s share of success over the years, winning 24 times against the 19 of Roma and 23 draws. The most recent pairing saw Milan ease to a 2-0 home victory to gain revenge for a 2-1 loss suffered on the road earlier in the campaign.

Milan back on home soil

AC Milan entered the season hoping to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title while working their way through to the latter stages of the Europa League. They travelled to Glasgow on Thursday evening to play Celtic in Europe and are now back on home soil as they look to strengthen their position at the top of the league. Milan entered the week in pole position thanks to four wins from their first four games, scoring nine goals and conceding only one. That put them two points ahead of Sassuolo who led the chasing pack.

The locals made it a perfect four last weekend when beating Inter Milan 2-1 in a pulsating derby match. Ibrahimovic scored a quickfire double last Saturday and that was enough to see off a reply from Lukaku and ensure his side took all three points and the bragging rights. Zlatan once again stole the headlines and his team will be desperate to build on that success.

Roma have won their last two

Roma make this trip sitting in eighth place with seven points collected thanks to two wins, a draw and a defeat. They have scored eight goals so far but conceded seven and the latter is something the coaching staff will be working to fix. Roma have scored one goal less than their hosts but have conceded six more.

They have won each of their last two games, following a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Udinese earlier this month before destroying Benevento at home last weekend courtesy of a 5-2 score. Dzeko notched a double in what was a thrilling contest and neutrals will hope this weekend’s match lives up to the excitement of that game.

AC Milan vs Roma prediction

AC Milan are top of the league and full of confidence. They also enjoy the home advantage over their opponents and will be desperate to make it count. Roma have won their last two league games and have the quality to complete the treble if at their best.

Serie A odds

AC Milan have been priced at 2.125 with 22bet to win this home game or there’s 3.17 available to those who prefer backing Roma. The draw is 3.74.
